The Scenic Route to Marketing
Let’s say my career path wasn’t a straight line; it was more like a scenic route with plenty of U-turns. I started as a published poet at 12 (yes, the rhyming kind), dabbled in storytelling, made my way into the world of marketing, and eventually found my sweet spot as a marketing expert and content strategist.
I love reading, playing the piano, travelling, painting, and listening to music.
I’m a Game of Thrones fan, (up until “The Last Night”, when Arya does her dagger flip to slay the Night King), loved Breaking Bad, Walter White, and how brain power beats cartels and mafias, and watch Friends every few years, as that is the epitome of feel good comedy.
I spend my time watching my beautiful children grow and helping business owners like you get rid of the overwhelm and nail your business and marketing strategy, all the while playing home base to a pilot.
I still wonder how I manage to write for pleasure in between! All is not sunshine and rainbows, though. I have seen my loving father lose the battle to cancer, have lost a daughter to lethal skeletal dysplasia, not even getting to hold her once, and have learned the hard way that life goes on.
And through the pain and the brain fog, there is always a clearing, a way forward. Sometimes you can find it on your own; other times, you need a guide, mentor, or a coach to help you see the path.

Why I’m So Passionate About My Work
I started this business for one reason: I was tired of brilliant service providers being invisible online and drowning in advice, criticism, misaligned messaging, and marketing that didn’t reflect their value.
When I started my freelance career well over a decade ago, I quickly realized that my geography was working against me: I was a non-native copywriter serving clients in the western hemisphere. I was from halfway across the world, and unlike many freelancers from Pakistan, I refused to work for sweatshop wages. I knew my worth, and I chose to take the longer route to achieve my dream business. Most business advice that starts with selling to your existing network didn’t apply to me, as my target audience was continents away.
The secret to my success?
Building trust quickly to rise above the noise.
I was exceptional in my delivery and took client satisfaction very seriously. I ensured that my clients felt the difference in my work ethic, responsiveness, integrity, and professionalism. This helped me forge long-term relationships that turned into repeat and retainer clients.

It wasn’t always like this. Initially, I sent proposals but was met with ghosting, haggling over prices, and being told that, as someone from a specific part of the world, I couldn’t expect to be paid industry rates.
At home, I was told by a very close family member (one who I had deeply respected up until that point) that I wasn’t good enough to build a business, that I was wasting time, and that I was a fool for dreaming too big. I was told that all the late nights and hard work that I was pouring into building my dream would amount to nothing.
